AT-Nordburgenland-Neusiedler See › Scheiblhofer
A special highlight in the winegrowing landscape of northern Burgenland is the Scheiblhofer winery – known to many (also internationally) for its red wine cuvée “BigJohn” (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon & Pinot Noir).
The winery is located in Andau (east of Lake Neusiedl on the border with Hungary), which is known as Austria’s heat pole with the most hours of sunshine. Together with the mineral gravel soils, this creates the ideal conditions for mature, full-bodied wines. With 104 hectares of its own land, the Scheiblhofer winery is one of the largest in Burgenland.
Tastings: Of course, you can also taste the exquisite wines in the winery – and great standards are set here as well! The tastings take place in a modern atmosphere, and a guided tour of the farm or vineyard is also possible by appointment. The guided tours and tastings take place daily (Sun-Thu: 8 am-5 pm, Fri&Sat: 8 am-6 pm).
Optics: Personally, we think that the large bottle wall in the entrance is one of the most beautiful decoration ideas that a connoisseur can find anywhere in the world…
Restaurant: Food and drink keep body and soul together! That’s why we also recommend the Infinity restaurant, which – together with the resort – belongs to the winery and has really delicious culinary delights to offer, from the Legendary Breakfast to the Premium Lunch to the Great Dinner!
Travelharry Tip: Take a look at your calendar – a wine tasting in combination with a stay at the resort or day spa make even a short weekend or leisure during the week a wonderful complete break for all the senses!
