Monterosso

Monterosso al Mare is the northernmost and largest village of the Cinque Terre. This is the busiest place, the beach promenade is bustling and there are a number of hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes … and the only real beach in the Cinque Terre!

In the old town there are many small shops and small shops for all kinds of souvenirs, worth seeing is also the church of St. Giovanni Battista from the 13th/14th century or the Capuchin monastery.

From Levanto to Monterosso there is also a very beautiful, approx. 2.5h hike along the cliffs – as almost everywhere in the Cinque Terre with a breathtaking view of the deep blue sea!

If the majority of day tourists leave in the late afternoon, Monterosso is particularly recommended, a sunset on the beach unforgettable! All that’s missing is an aperitivo…
