A mountain adventure for the whole family

Directly from the centre of Mariazell, you glide with the “Bürgeralpe Express” in modern 8-person cabins to 1,267 metres, where numerous hiking trails, two challenging single bike trails, cosy huts to stop off at and the exciting “WanderWunderWald” await you!

In Holzknechtland, children playfully experience what was once a hard way to earn a living. With the forest train “Basti Express” you can take a lap around the forest and crystal lake! Beaver Water is the play world of mascot beaver Basti. “Pack your swimming trunks” is the motto on a ride on the water ski lift on the flying carpet across the Crystal Lake.

With the Wald8erbahn “Flylinas Hexenflug” you float – alone or in tandem with a child – for 150 seconds between the treetops. At the end of the 340-metre-long flight, you return on foot on the Forest Adventure Trail with puzzle stations.

There are also unique offers for adults, e.g. a whisky tasting in the whisky gondola (bookable via the Hotel Drei Hasen), or those who are in love can celebrate the civil wedding – idyllically located at the Waldsee in Holzknechtland!

Travelharry Tip: During the summer months, numerous concerts from the pop, schlager and folk music series take place at the mountain lake, at 1,270 meters. The lake stage is one of the most beautiful nature locations in Austria!
