Due to construction work, the Christmas market, which attracts around 800,000 visitors each year, will be held at the nearby Bebelplatz from 2022 to 2024. Between the State Opera House, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, St. Hedwig’s Cathedral and Hotel de Rome, the stars at the top of the traditional market stalls will sparkle along with the large Christmas tree in the center of the square. A large tent serves as a demonstration space for craftspeople – here, wood carvers, comb makers and tailors show their skills to visitors.Handmade candles, toys and decorative items can be purchased as unique gifts for friends and family. In the heated gastronomy area you can let yourself be spoiled with culinary delights. In addition to the traditional Christmas treats, a wide range of international dishes and drinks are also offered. Whether fine menu variations, Austrian delicacies and specialties, or vegan and gluten-free dishes – there is something for everyone’s taste.
