Berlin › Weihnachtsmarkt am Roten Rathaus
A Christmas market with old Berlin flair!
Time is turned back at the Christmas market between Marienkirche and Rotes Rathaus. Large backdrops on the facades bring 19th-century Berlin to life. Traditional artisans produce jewellery, leather products, glass and woodwork and much more on site.
In the narrow streets there are stalls decorated for Christmas, where visitors can fortify themselves with fried apples, longosch, mushroom pans or special Christmas treats.
Special highlights of the Christmas market:
The market’s famous giant Ferris wheel provides a fantastic view to Potsdamer Platz, the Brandenburg Gate and the radio tower from closed gondolas. There is also champagne and canape in VIP gondolas. Historic carousels will delight both children and adults, while a trip on the miniature train through a fantastic, snowy fairytale forest is a special treat exclusively for the little ones. Another popular highlight of this market is the 600 square metre ice rink where skaters can circle around the impressive Neptune Fountain.
As a very special guest, Santa Clause will be visiting the Christmas market. Three times a day (4.30, 6.30, 8.30 pm) he rides on his sleigh pulled by his reindeer over the market in the Berlin air and is happy to give hugs and pose for a photograph. Free entrance, Ice rink from € 5,-
